Kettlebell Training

A kettlebell is a traditional Russian cast iron weight that looks like a cannonball with a handle. This is the ultimate tool for extreme all around fitness. Kettlebells melt fat without dieting or aerobics, and force feed muscle for a lean, mean, fighters physique.
WHY KETTLEBELLS?
Kettlebells will lead to greater fat loss. Kettlebells increase your metabolism by creating dense muscle mass. The fat loss power of kettlebells is explained by the extremely high metabolic cost of throwing the weight around combined with the fat burning effect of the growth hormone stimulated by such exercises.

Kettlebells deliver unparalleled cardio benefits. With kettlebell workouts, two different actions must work together; resistance and overall body movement. The ballistic nature of kettlebell lifting creates a challenge.
Kettlebells are different from dumbells and barbells. Kettlebells do not require a special facility. They are nearly indestructible and relatively inexpensive. Furthermore they deliver faster results than any other type of workout. The center of gravity is distally placed, thereby creating greater forces of inertia. In order to control the weight you must employ the use of the stabilizing muscles. Isolation exercises such as those done with dumbbells and barbells do not hit those stabilizing muscles to the same degree. Isolation exercises train only the major muscle groups.
“Kettlebell training has helped me greatly in my quest to lose a total of 175 lbs. with only 20 lbs. to go in a little over 1 year. (Without surgery.) With Tracy’s help and support in this intense but efficient training method, I have gained so much confidence and strength that I have no doubt that I will reach my goal before my 47th birthday in October. Tracy has been instrumental in setting me on the course back to the person I was in high school and college. The kettlebell methods used are so powerful that you feel like you’ve accomplished an hour’s worth of traditional training in 1/2 the time. The mobility of kettlebells is another plus. No longer are you tied to machines that focus on just one muscle group at a time.
Tracy’s dedication and willingness to utilize this ancient training method in a new way shows her ability to focus on strength training that is useful in the everyday world, not just in the gym.”

Kettlebells rehabilitate and prevent future injury. Soviet research shows that the intense grip required to swing (and hold) the kettlebell along with the dynamic movement helps to prevent and/or reduce all types of arthritis. The acceleration/deceleration of moving the kettlebell strengthens the connective tissues (tendons, ligaments, cartilage) and increases shoulder mobility, strength and flexibility, reducing the possibility of injury. Kettlebells will make your back strong and resilient by conditioning your back statically and dynamically. Many Russians have successfully rehabilitated hopeless back injuries with kettlebells.

Kettlebells are great for general conditioning. Kettlebell training mimics natural human movement thereby making everyday activities easier and injury less likely. Kettlebell training offers the most functional training possible, because the parts of the body must work as a unit. Every lift with the kettlebell engages the entire body. The kettlebell movement is never a single joint movement. Every swing, lift, and press engages each joint and muscle group forcing the body to always work as a unified whole. Kettlebells were the conditioning tool of choice for all athletes in the Soviet Union.
Kettlebells increase mental focus. The task associated with kettlebells is a complex requiring body movements which must be performed sequentially. At each moment the lifter must be focused on the movement. The result is improved coordination and mental focus.

How a young athlete can take their performance to the next level! Kettlebells can be used for a variety of athletic goals. The many variations that you can implement using one Russian Kettlebell is staggering. You can squat, press, row, shrug, swing, rotate, lunge, snatch, clean as well as throw the Kettlebell for height and/or distance.
One Kettlebell benefit is that they are often both an upper and a lower body exercise, forcing the athlete to work many movements and muscles at once. Many of the moves work the athletes posterior chain, which is always a plus!
Kettlebells teach athletes how to explode through the hips and most moves require speed and power to complete a rep. Kettlebells teach young athletes how to be aggressive and how to apply force (speed) with the weights which some kids simply do not understand or know how to do. In turn this helps transfer to more power and speed during their actual competitions!
